It’s been more than a couple of months when Apple released the latest iPhone 5 with the new iOS 6. Now, iOS 6 was not the ideal OS update for million of the users as it came with so many issues like Maps, data usage and others. So, a little after the release of iOS 6, Apple had to release iOS 6.0.1 that fixed many of the issues of the iOS 6. Well, after the release its been over 11 weeks and we are yet to see anything happening on the jailbreak front for the iOS 6.
Well, last year it took a lot of time for the developers to release the untethered jailbreak for the iOS 5 and now when the iOS 6 was released, the developers did not even get the time to work on it and the new firmware was released. So, now the question raises that which of the untethered jailbreak developers are putting their efforts on. We have to keep in mind that the jailbreak developers are not the miracle workers and they cannot always get the jailbreak out in short time as Apple is also putting a lot of effort in increasing the security measures of the software.
Earlier this year, at the JailbreakCon 2013, Pod2g a renowned jailbreak developer stated that he found some partial injection data that might help in finding the untethered jailbreak solution for the iOS 6. Well, after that when Apple updated the firmware, they patched those loopholes and it seems like Pod2g has gone back to zero. Now, according to Pod2g, if finding the jailbreak solution is supposed as 5 doors with different keys, he has only the key for the 2nd door and first he will be needing the key to the first door to start his work.
Well, after that, we have not heard much about the Jailbreak community’s development of the untethered iOS 6 jailbreak. A little while ago it was reported that all the popular jailbreak developers including Pod2g, MuscleNerd, Planetbeing and others have joined forces and are now working together to find the jailbreak solution.
Another popular hacker named Grant Paul who is also known as chpwn, stated that he has made his own failbreak exploit on the same day when iPhone 5 was launched. But that is still under development and we wont be seeing it being released in the near future or so. The last we heard from PlanetBeing was a tweet in which he stated that his jailbreak solution is missing some critical pieces which means that it cannot be released right now and they are working very hard on it. He also posted an image of his iPhone 5, which was jailbroken and running the Cydia tweaks.
That’s it for now, but we will keep you updated with the latest reports on the matter, stay tuned.
