After the first installment of Samsung’s media campaign was responded to by Apple fanboys, the Korean electronics giants have released another ad that takes directly takes an aim at the celebratory atmosphere today around Apple stores worldwide. The ad, which shadows a print ad that claimed the iPhone had far less features than Samsung’s Galaxy S III, makes the same point again that it visited during its adverts for the Galaxy S II. And it tries to convince the potential users by using the same tagline, “The Next Big Thing is already here.”
The crux of the ad is indeed the fact that the S3 already comes with the features of a larger screen and the 4G LTE connectivity which Apple have incorporated for the first time in the iPhone 5. Apple may be right calling the ad as a petty act of ridiculing your customers that you are trying to attract but there is no denying from the fact that they used similar tactics against Windows to promote the Mac.
Samsung Planning to Quickly Deal with Apple
This is another indication that Samsung plans to speed up its actions to battle the iPhone as it has also been revealed that they are planning to add iPhone 5 to the list of products that have infringed on the company’s patents. The matter shall surely be brought up as Samsung have said in court filings on Wednesday that it is likely to include the iPhone 5 to its court case in the Northern District Court of California. Samsung expressed in the court that it will reach a conclusion after it has had “reasonable opportunity” to scrutinise Apple’s new phone, but that it “anticipates” that it will discover reason to consider the smartphone in its court case.
Official Samsung Statement
In a statement, Samsung said, “We have always preferred to compete in the marketplace with our innovative products, rather than in courtrooms. However, Apple continues to take aggressive legal measures that will limit market competition. Under these circumstances, we have little choice but to take the steps necessary to protect our innovations and intellectual property rights.”
While the iPhone 5 may have found itself engulfed inside the legal encounter between Apple and Samsung down the line, it appears to have an easy passage into the market as it makes its way to store shelves Friday.
