Latest reports indicate that Samsung could launch its fourth generation mobile handset, Galaxy S4, much sooner than possible. The release date is rumored to be sometime in March 2013, just after the Barcelona based MWC 2013 convention where Samsung are going to announce the handset. Korea Times has published a story revealing that Samsung are ready to follow in Apple’s footsteps by releasing the mobile for public immediately after announcing it at a much anticipated press event.
Massive Upgrade in Galaxy S4
With the Galaxy S3 vs iPhone battle yet to kick-off, the prospect of having a device with iPhone 5 toppling collection of high-end specs so early at our disposal is indeed mouth-watering. Although, not a great deal of attention should be paid to Galaxy S4 specs rumours right now, there exist reports claiming that Samsung are willing to bring about a massive upgrade in Galaxy S4. In attempts to tackle the hugely popular iPhone, Samsung could go as far as increasing the screen size to about 5-inches. And how can a meaningful upgrade be possible without a camera improvement? Reports of incorporating a ground breaking 13 megapixel camera have certainly raised eye-brows. Moreover, there is speculation that the handset could boast a revised quad core processor and 4G LTE connectivity in the UK through Everything Everywhere.
Samsung Working on New Designs
The S4’s release would certainly be Samsung’s biggest round since a federal court in California ruled that Samsung infringed multiple Apple patents in the release of its own products. After the ruling, Apple requested the court to include the Galaxy S3 to the list of products that are in desecration. According to updates leaking from South Korea, Samsung is working in collaboration with the carriers in the US on reformed designs the company said will disregard any queries about patents.
The early release ploy is seen by many as tactic from Samsung to negate the iPhone 5’s unparalleled success in the smartphone market with Apple already announcing 2 million pre-orders inside the first day of the launch. Furthermore, claims by Apple of manufacturing the thinnest smartphone ever with an aluminium and glass body will not go well with Samsung and they will be hoping to address the issue at the earliest.
