We all know that there is no doubt that the Galaxy S III by Samsung is really one of the most popular devices of 2012 and it is also the most selling Android device of the year as well. Just like its predecessor, Galaxy S II, and we are expecting same performance in the market from its successor the Galaxy S IV in the next year. We also know that Galaxy S III is a really expensive and high end device and not everyone can afford it easily, so all those consumers who are more budget conscious and cannot afford to spare that much cash are usually stuck with other products that are affordable.

Samsung also brought a device named Galaxy S III Mini which was a stripped down version of Galaxy S III and it also brought significant cut in the price but it was a smaller handset and failed to do well in the market as the Galaxy S III did. Galaxy S III Mini was a smaller device and the main reason why people like Galaxy S III is its size and Samsung has done just that by announcing the new Galaxy Grand. Samsung Galaxy Grand is a new offering from the Korean manufacturer and it brings the same sized display screen as the Galaxy S III, yes the Galaxy Grand has a large 5 inch display.

We have been hearing various rumors about the device named as Galaxy Grand, well, many of those rumors suggested that it will be a cheaper version of Galaxy Note II. But Galaxy Grand is more identical to the Galaxy S III but it comes with a cheaper price tag which will make so many consumers very happy.

Galaxy Grand offers a 5 inch display screen but the resolution is not as sharp as the Galaxy S III, instead Galaxy Grand display has lower, WVGA resolution of 480 x 800 pixels and it features pixel density of 187 ppi which is even less than so many mid range devices available in the market right now. When we talk about other specs of the device, it comes with a 1.2GHz dual core processor under the hood along with 1GB of RAM which is quite reasonable. It also features 8GB of internal storage space and it can be expanded via microSD memory card as well. It also comes with an 8MP rear camera along with a 2MP front camera.

Galaxy Grand will be coming with a reasonable 2100 mAh battery which will be offering pretty standard battery life. Galaxy Grand will also be coming with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean out of the box. Galaxy Grand will be released in two different models, one with single SIM option while other one with dual SIM option. We have not heard about the price or the release date of the device but we will keep you updated as we hear more about it.
