Replacing the logic board on iPhone 4 is a very difficult process and not everyone can do it without making mistakes. But here we are providing a complete manual on how to do it with minimum chances of any danger to your device. The process includes three sections of your iPhone 4 to be opened including the Rear Panel, Battery and of course the Logic board.
Before starting, make sure that your iPhone 4 has external Phillips screws, now following are all the tools that you will need during this process. First of all there are Phillips #000 and 00 Screwdrivers, tools for opening plastic, small flathead driver, spudger, iPhone SIM Card eject tool. If your iPhone 4 has external pentalobe screws, then you will need an iPhone 4 5-point Pentalobe screwdriver.
Step by Step Procedure
First of all, after you have made sure what type of external screws are placed on your iPhone 4, choose the correct screwdriver and remove them.
After you have removed the screws at the bottom of your device, all you need to do is push the rear panel upwards and after pushing it for 2mm, it will come out. Now lift the rear panel and place it somewhere.
Now you will see the battery and you will need your Philips screwdriver again to remove a single screw placed on the battery and the logic board. According to some reports, some of the units of iPhone 4 also come with two screws instead of one. Now carefully detach the battery from its connectors on both top and bottom edges of the device. After that all you need to do is just remove the battery from your iPhone 4.
After that, use your SIM card ejector tool to remove the SIM card holder of your iPhone. Now on the left side, you will see two screws on the logic board, remove them and the steel dock connector will also be removed. After that carefully remove the dock cable connector, dock ribbon cable, lower antenna connector from the logic board. At the bottom of the inner case of the logic board you will see another screw, remove it. Now, you will find the WiFi antenna which is protected by five screws, remove them. After that you will have to remove the rear camera connector and the small white stickers where you will find another screw. After that you will be able to remove the logic board of your iPhone 4 and replace it with another one.
