The release of Galaxy S3 by Samsung was a direct hit at Apple’s market share in the smartphone industry. With the much anticipated release of iPhone 5 just around the corner, Apple would be looking to stamp its authority once more. The most recent version is set to be presented to the world on September 12th so let us highlight some of the features that are likely to help the Apple iPhone 5 eclipse the sales of iPhone 4.

4G LTE Compatibility:

As we have witnessed over the past decade, there is no stopping the mobile technology evolution. It looks as if soon enough, the 3G technology will be long forgotten. Samsung Galaxy S3 already comes with the 4G LTE compatibility and it would be the first feature listed down when the iPhone 5 is released.

Processor – Quad core and Powerful!

There are very strong rumors of Apple incorporating a quad core processor in its latest release and it is not very surprising since most of the iPhone 5’s competitors are packed with similar driving power.

Increased Battery Life:

The iPhone 5 will have greater battery capacity as compared to the iPhone 4 by 10 mAh. This means that it will give more than 8 hours of battery life to 3G users.

Design & Shape:

iPhone’s previous versions are deemed as slightly thicker as compared to the very popular Samsung S3. This means that iPhone 5 will have to come with a slimmer look for increased mobility for users.

Screen – The Bigger, The Better!

Till date, all iPhones have had a screen area of about 3.5-inches which is significantly smaller than the S3’s 4.8-inch display. Therefore, it can be safely assumed that the iPhone 5’s display will be around the 4-inch mark to compete with the S3 and the HTC One X.

Operating System:

The launch of iPhone 5 also means the launch of the iOS 6.0 whose responsibility will be to provide an even better mobile user experience than that provided by Samsung’s GalaxyWiz on top of Android 4.0 – definitely not an easy task.

Durability:

The Galaxy S3 has been built using scratch resistant glass providing the much necessary ‘steel’ to the typically fragile Samsung devices. In order to match the durability, iPhone 5 will come with the Gorilla Glass 2.0.

Camera:

The camera of the iPhone 4S, that was of 8.0 MP, is widely regarded as one of the best smartphone cameras ever but Apple’s technology is unlikely to standstill. The rumor mill is churning reports that the iPhone 5’s camera will be around the 12 MP mark with added features to the application.

Whatever the final features may turn out to be, one thing is for sure that Apple’s design and technology will be hard to match because of the recent court verdict against Samsung. It is the perfect time and opportunity for iPhone 5 to make the strongest share claim in the smartphone market.
