The iPhone 4 touch screen is made from aluminosilicate glass, which is supposed to be 30 times harder than plastic. The back cover of the iPhone is also made from the same glass which means dropping your iPhone 4 now could result in both the front and back glass panels cracking! The glassed used is the glass thats used in high speed trains.
Dispite this we have been getting a tremendous amount of requests to repair these that people have dropped
The new iPhone 4 front glass repair is significantly more expensive than the previous two iPhone versions.
This is because Apple has changed the design of their new iPhone.
with the older versions of the iphone (eg 3g/3gs), the glass touch screen and LCD were separate components. If just the glass broke, we could replace the glass and reuse the working LCD. This isn’t possible with the iPhone 4. The touch screen and LCD are a sealed unit and must be replaced – even if one or the other is working fine. It’s also significant more time intensive to repair the iPhone 4. This makes for a more expensive repair.
If the unfortunate should happen to you and your iPhone 4 a repair will be needed. This is where we come in. We have replaced many iPhone 4 broken screens now and are quite familiar with the job in hand. To take apart the iPhone 4 can be a daunting task to the novice as Apple have managed to up the number of screws inside the new iPhone 4. Not only that but most screws are of different size and length, meaning they will need to go back in their exact place.
If history is anything to go by the price of these repairs will drop over the next year, but if you have got sick of getting bits of glass in your hand, or staring through a spiders web then please give us a call to book your iphone 4 in for a replacement screen
