Apple is really earning so much revenue by releasing this new iPhone 5 near the holiday season due to so high sales. iPhone 5 has become one of the best selling smartphone of the year and that also resulted in iOS becoming the platform with the highest smartphone market share in the US. According to a research report formed by Kantar Worldpanel Comtech that states that now iOS has become the most used platform in the US by replacing Android which was previously leading the market share.
iPhone 5 brought a completely new look with a larger display and that is the reason why it is getting so much popularity among the consumers. Well, apparently Apple was able to sell so much units in the first two months after the release and after that when the unlocked version of the device will be released it will also cause a major push in the sales of the device.
Well, the research company’s report suggests that Android was leading the chart at the start of the year and at the middle of the year Android’s market share even got higher due to the release of the Galaxy S III and it was still leading the smartphone platforms by now. Now, the iPhone 5 sales have resulted in iOS becoming the platform with highest market share in the US.
In addition to the figures suggesting iPhone’s dominance over Android over the market share in the US, the report also states that iPhone also has the highest customer satisfaction rate. Just like the previous iOS devices, iPhone 5 has also proved that all the users are completely satisfied with it. Over 92% new owners of the iPhone 5 have stated that they are completely satisfied with their smartphone and they will go for an iPhone the next time they are in the market for a smartphone. So, it means that Apple has some of formula that is why its users keep coming back to its product year after year. Last but not the least, the report has also suggested that over 13% owners of the new iPhone 5 previously used to enjoy Android platform and over 7% users came from BlackBerry.
