We all know that Blackberry has been going through a very tough time right now but still they had their big business users that were the main consumers of the Blackberry but apparently they are not anymore. Previously, whenever you are reading any book about Wall street activity, you will find out that CEO of the company used his BlackBerry to communicate with other executives. Of course when we talk about the corporate turf, it seems like Blackberry was leading the market.
Blackberry Sinking
According to a latest research study from IDC, Apple iPhone and Android will be able to take over the enterprise market from Blackberry. It means that corporate consumers are now shifting their attention toward iPhone and Android and their interest in Blackberry is rapidly losing. Well, according to the research, it seems like Android will be shipping over 87.7 million units around the world on the other hand Apple will be able to sell over 37.1 million units of iPhone in 2012. These figures mainly represent the number of employees who will purchase these handsets on their own and then bring them to their office. When we talk about the handsets provided by firms to their employees, Apple iPhone will lead that race. As according to the same study, companies will provide around 31.1 million units of iPhone to their owners while over 15.1 million Android handsets will be given to the employees in 2012.
Sales Comparison
As you can see both Apple iPhone and Android are going to surpass the enterprise sales of BlackBerry products which currently lie at; 5.2 million units sold directly to employees and 14.8 units provided by the companies. Of course only a little while ago BlackBerry was considered as the leader of the corporate provided handsets as only in 2011, over 22.4 million units of Blackberry handsets were offered by organizations to their employees.
At this time, BlackBerry is still thought to be the most secured device for the enterprise users but consumers and developers have lost interest in this platform now and its future is not looking that bright right now. The IDC study also suggests that in 2016, Apple will completely replace BlackBerry as the corporate provided smartphone with over 68 million units shipped in that year. The same study also states that rise in the popularity of iPhone among the corporate users is due to the tight security offered by iOS and its easy to use user interface. So, it seems like Apple iPhone will keep on getting success in the corporate market and it has a bright future ahead.
