HTC have taken to social networks, Twitter and Facebook, to warm up potential customers about their latest release which is set to be announced in a few hours’ time. HTC posted a catchy phrase saying, “When beautiful hardware meets stunning software” along with an image showing a bit of the new device and today’s date. According to rumours, the device could be anything from an Android based handset to Android based tablets.
Droid Incredible X Expected Specifications
As far as the smartphones go, HTC have been linked to speculation saying that they are in process of developing a 5-inch display phone and a 1080p display with a screen resolution of 1794 x 1080 and a ridiculous 480 pixels per inch (ppi). Reports say that the name it would be getting is Droid Incredible X and would most likely be exclusive to US carrier Verizon Wireless. Further specs include a 1.5GB RAM, 16GB internal storage and a quad-core Snapdragon processor. In terms of the operating system, the Droid Incredible X is said to run Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with a somewhat tweaked Sense 4.5 user interface. Similar to the earlier members in the series, it will shun the removable battery and a microSD slot in favour of a slim and sexy design. Other details for the smartphone are said to comprise of a rear notification LED for charging, messages, and calls.
A Couple of Tablets May Be Announced
HTC is set to announce their latest products in New York, which kicks off at 11 a.m. ET / 8 a.m. PT tonight. The firm’s One series of Android based handsets has only seen varied success, and the gap between it and frontrunners Apple and Samsung is broadening. Therefore, HTC is looking for an extravagant product to bring some enthusiasm back to the company. Besides the smartphones, HTC are also considering to announce a couple of tablets, rumoured to have screen sizes of 7-inches and 10-inches. It has already assured to be daring and more aggressive as it cranks up efforts to come up with a revolutionary design.
