HTC might not have set the world alight with its One Series in terms of sales but that certainly has not stopped them from upgrading the HTC One X phone. Reports say that the sequel, having a code name of Endeavour C2 and referred to as HTC One X+, could be officially announced as early as this month. HTC will be teaming up with T-Mobile and although they will not be providing 4G LTE access to their subscribers, they could become the first carrier in the US to bring the quad core flavor to the smartphone market. As of now, T-Mobile are offering HSPA+ access only but they could be tempted to bring in LTE alongside it once HTC One X+ boosts its ranks. It must be mentioned that HSPA+ from T-Mobile, at this moment, in time is faster than Verizon’s LTE.
HTC One X+ Specifications:
HTC One X+ will be featuring Nvidia’s Tegra 3 1.7GHz quad core processor which is the same chipset that was used in the international market for the HTC One X. Battery life is rumored to have been increased substantially. The screen size remains the same as its predecessor as there is no need to go above the 4.7-inch mark while the screen itself will be boasting a 1280×720 pixel HD display.
Improved Camera:
The camera has undergone major reinforcements as now the 8.0 mega pixel machine can capture and playback 1080p HD videos. Internal memory storage of 16GB will help in storing such high quality multimedia. There are no other major innovations and enhancements in the phone design and it will be able to support all of One X’s accessories as a result. However, the deal breaker is going to be the microSD slot because if the phone lacks that, users will see the phone as a complete waste of space.
OS and Software:
As far as the operating system is concerned, TmoNews believe that HTC One X+ will be running the Android Jellybean 4.1.1. On the software side, HTC have implemented ClearVoice that has been designed to improve the call quality. Another application making its debut is HTC Watch 2, the latest edition of the Video-on-Demand software.
Expected Release Days:
The release date by no means can be confirmed although the One X+ is expected to hit the market shelves before October 1st.
