Here are some pictures of an HTC desire charging connector being replaced, if you have damaged your HTC charge connector it will probably look something like this

The process of changing the connector is not for the faint hearted and requires some specialist equipment , first of all we remove the old damage charge connector and get the board cleaned down ready for the new one, all the old solder has to be removed,

Once all this has been covered its time to add the new charge connector . The most important part about resold the new charge connector is to get good soldered joints on the mounts, if these are weak the connector will dismount again usually within the first week.

When you have successfully soldered these the next step is to solder the small pins that make the charge connection to the board , this part can be quite tedious and requires experience, there is usually 4 or 5 charging pins but there can be anywhere up to 24 pins , the HTC usually has 5
