We all know that a few months ago when Apple launched the latest iOS 6 update, it brought Apple’s own Maps app. That app was a disaster and failed badly due to so many issues. We have been hearing so much about that and even Apple CEO Tim Cook apologized to all of the iOS users and he suggested them to use alternative navigation apps. Of course, we have been waiting impatiently for the official Google Maps in the iOS 6, which was kicked by the company because they wanted to add their own Maps app.

Now it’s finally here, Apple has released the Google Maps app for iOS 6 and later devices. People all around the world have been so much disappointed by the Apple Maps app and they were waiting for Google Maps to be released for a long time now. So, now we don’t think that there is any doubt that Google Maps is currently the best mapping and navigation solution available for the mobile devices. Of course Apple has to work very hard on its Maps app to bring it to the standards of the Google Maps.

So, from now on, users who own an iPhone or iPod touch with running iOS 6 or higher will be able to run Google Maps and get all those amazing features that were taken away from them. Of course it is a free app and you can download it right now from the Apple App Store. This new Google Maps app for iOS 6 brings all of its popular features like turn by turn navigation, direction, the amazing Street view and imagery.

Well, we have been saying that Apple made a hasty decision of releasing its own maps app in the iOS 6, because it did not look completed and had a lot of bugs and issues. On the other hand, Google’s Maps app is perfect and has been updated for a long time now. So, it seems like now all the iOS users can go back to the good old days with their accurate Google Maps. Apple needs to work harder on its own app and wait until it is complete, but until then we and most of the iOS users all around the world are completely satisfied with the Google Maps.

You have to keep in mind that right now, Google Maps is only available for iPhone and iPod touch devices. It is also available in the most latest iPhone 5 as well. If you are an iPad owner, we suggest you to wait a bit more, hopefully Google Maps for iPad will be released soon as well.
