We all are familiar with the Apple products and their high prices which usually do not change throughout the year and if they do, mostly retailers offer $10 to $20 discount on them and even in that case consumers have to bring a gift card for that store as well. But when the holiday shopping season arrives, everything changes and this time we are seeing so much competition among the retailers for selling the latest iPhone 5 from Apple. A little while ago Target and Wal-Mart introduced their discount packages for the iPhone 5 and now Fry’s electronics has also entered the competition by offering the new iPhone 5 for mere $126.

Walmart Offering iPhone 5 For $127
You have to keep in mind that currently, Fry’s is the only retailer which is offering the iPhone 5 for that low price in the market. Of course if you want to get your hands on the $126 iPhone 5, you will also have to sign a two year contract with the carrier of your choice. Fry’s offer is not that cheap from the one from Walmart, as Walmart is offering iPhone 5 for $127. So, Fry’s has just made their iPhone 5 the cheapest by setting the price $1 less than Walmart. So, it really does not matter from where you pick up your handset, as Walmart and Fry’s are offering it for almost the same price and it only depends on the location, which of these retailer happens to be near you when you are planning on getting a new iPhone.
Another thing that I need to mention here is that the iPhone 5 model we are talking here is the most basic one. Yes, 16GB iPhone model will be available for $126 at Fry’s and if you want to get the one with more memory, you can get the 32GB version for $226 and 64GB version is available at only $326.
Of course consumers are trying to find the best deals everywhere but in the holiday shopping season retailers also get in too much pressure of the competition. Fry, Walmart and Target are big outlets and they can slash their prices that much and even take a slight hit, but people usually end up buying several things while they are visiting the store and that is how the store makes money.
Many analysts have made predictions that this last quarter of 2012 is going to be one of the biggest for Apple in terms of sales. As they released multiple products in this quarter and iPhone 5 and iPad Mini are selling very well, Apple is really expecting some big sale numbers.
