Samsung has already taken a swipe at Apple’s iPhone 5 by claiming that its Galaxy S3 already has those features that have been incorporated in to the iPhone for the first time and now Nokia has followed in its footsteps. The Finnish smartphone manufacturer, in a post published on Facebook, breaks down the main features present in both the handsets and obviously favouring the Lumia 920 in each classification. And surprisingly to many, its claims do not look out of place if analysed honestly.

nokia vs apple

Screen Difference

The Lumia 920’s screen is bigger and sharper than the one on the new iPhone. Lumia 920’s 4.5-inch has a resolution of 1,280×768 pixels at 332 pixels per inch whereas the iPhone 5’s 4-inch screen offers 1,136×640 pixels at 326 ppi.

Camera

The PureView camera on the Lumia 920 is of 8.7-megapixels with a Carl Zeiss lens, while the iPhone 5 uses an 8-megapixel camera. However, Nokia have not mentioned enhancements in noise reduction, low-light performance, and fast photo taking that have been made in the iPhone’s camera. Both cameras come with Panoramic mode that enables you shoot a single photo covering as much as 360 degrees. Nokia awards itself a win for image stabilization, but that feature is also present on the iPhone 5. The 920’s front-facing camera does win the pixel race, offering 1.2 megapixels compared with the iPhone 5’s 720 pixels.

High Screen Sensitivity

One of the more exciting and unique features of the Lumia 920 is the screen which more touch-sensitive. The improved technology lets people with long fingernails or gloves to operate the screen. Nokia’s phone comes in a wider range of colours and offers more accessories than does the iPhone 5 and yes there are no issues like the Lightening connector.

Maps

The leader of the maps contest is a no-brainer, especially considering the deserved glowing criticism that has struck the iPhone 5’s maps application. The City Lens augmented reality feature on board the Lumia Maps app lets you discover local businesses merely by aiming your phone in the right direction, something that is not available on the new iPhone. Nokia is also obviously taking advantage of the reaction against Apple for its Maps blunders.

Apparently, the Lumia 920 looks to have the edge over the iPhone 5 but since the 920 isn’t out in the market yet, it’s virtually impossible to fully compare the two handsets side by side. Nokia will reportedly launch the 920 in early November at which time the two phones can truly go head to head.
