We all know that it’s been almost two months now since Apple launched the latest iPhone 5. Apple has already sold millions of units all around the world and all those lucky iPhone 5 owners must be very proud as they are enjoying the latest cutting edge device and it will remain on the top for a while. But today we have heard a report that comes from China and it says completely opposite.
Apple not resting at all
According to a report from Commercial Times, the guys at Apple are not resting at all and it seems like they are already planning on start working on the next iPhone. It seems like they are going to update and upgrade the iPhone 5 and start the trial production of the new iPhone 5S as soon as next month.
Of course we don’t think that Apple is going to release a new iPhone so early, as the current iPhone 5 is enjoying a great success in the market and there is no point of bringing its successor right now. So, overall the report is looking very farfetched but still, there are some intriguing points in the report as well.
The report also suggest that apparently, Apple is not getting the desired yield rates from some of the components found in the iPhone 5 and that is why Apple might bring the next iPhone early to compensate its revenues.
Production difficult to complete in 2012
Now, one thing I need to clear is that if somehow Apple starts the trial production of the next iPhone now, it won’t be complete until the year end which means that the iPhone 5S will not be released in 2012 at least. On the other hand, if the initial trial production of iPhone 5S become successful, then there is a chance that Apple will start the mass production in the first quarter of next year.
If we look at the history of the iPhone, usually Apple wait almost entire 12 months or more to release the next generation iPhone device. So, we should not expect the next iPhone to come in the few months and of course it would not be fair to all those iPhone 5 owners who spent so much money to buy the latest iPhone model. At this time nothing is confirmed, and until we get some solid reports on the matter we are not sure anything like this will happen.
